our time

Shattered bulb – a gunshot at my ear

Light out, deaf, spine twitches within fear

Kiss my cheek and twist my bitter tongue

Betray sans extortion or malevolence.

Drop your opinion of me

into the well of our shared knowledge,

sink me in impotable water.

I don’t swim and won’t scream of you.

Then, step gingerly about broken glass, and mumble brief syllables about time.

Single file tears from one eye, installments on our shared debts, marks on an endless ledger
